The Tutorial
This is my first attempt to do a video tutorial. Please let me know how you feel about it.
So, I used three colors to do this nail-art.
1. Sally Hansen Snappy Sorbet
2. Zoya Sam
3. Zoya Dree
Tips and Troubleshooting:
1. Experts say always use room temperature water; but honestly, when I was using water from a bottle kept at room temperature overnight, the polishes were not spreading at all. Then, I took water from kitchen sink and I kept the faucet in middle position (neutral: neither hot nor cold) and it worked fine.
2. You can always cover your nail surroundings with scotch tape as I showed in the video, to avoid extra cleaning.
3. Using a base color (such as white or neutrals) is another way to have really bright nails. If you are working with sheer or light colors, I would say this is a mandatory step. As I was using pretty dark colors this time, I skipped this step.
4. The orange color I used, is from Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry collection. While making the pattern, I was having hard time with this fast dry color. So, it's better to avoid fast dry color during water marbling.
5. Check which nail-polishes are better amongst the ones you have, in terms of spreading on the water during water marble. I am telling you, not all of them will spread the same way.
6. Keep the glass in a flat and steady surface to avoid any shaking while you are making pattern. You should try to keep water still during the process. Any shake could ruin your pattern.
7. During extra nail-polish cleaning from the water, be very meticulous and use a circular (as I am doing in the video) motion; a little bit left in water can ruin your design altogether.
8. If you can not do it first time, keep trying. It took me more than three hours before I saw a great water marbled nail for the first time.
